AT&T 2G Sunset by 1/1/2017.  Probably Sooner!

2G Cellular Network being turned off.

AT&T’s 2G GSM network shutdown is right on schedule to be completed by January 1, 2017 (or sooner)!

If you have 2G devices on AT&T, your devices will go offline on or before January 1, 2017. In the meantime, AT&T has already stopped adding and certifying new applications, so their customers cannot develop any new GSM M2M/IoT products for use or sale in the U.S. This shutdown will not occur all at once, but will appear sporadically across the country and on January 1, 2017, the 2G wireless network will cease to exist. Summer Sales Scam Rip Offs are Back Hawaii

Thursday, May 14th, 2015

Summer Sales Scam Rip Offs are Back Hawaii!

Every year around summer, there are a handful of security alarm companies from the mainland that hire college kids on summer break with promises of hula skirts, sunshine, and lots of money (your money). They ship them over here and teach them how to manipulate unsuspecting customers to switch alarm companies. When summer is done, they leave, and you are left holding the bag. They call you “low hanging fruit”; easy to pick.

By the time they have caused their chaos, they are back to the mainland. Government and law enforcement never have time to catch up to them to stop the illegal and unethical activity.

Be vigilant, do your research, make sure you are dealing with a local company that will still be around after the summer ends. Don’t become one of their low hanging fruit.
