Summer Sales Scam Rip Offs are Back Hawaii!

Every year around summer, there are a handful of security alarm companies from the mainland that hire college kids on summer break with promises of hula skirts, sunshine, and lots of money (your money). Does it make a difference if the alarm system is monitored by a security alarm company, or if it is a “local” system that doesn’t notify the police?

What happens if I don’t get an alarm permit?

I have a home security alarm system, but it is not monitored by an alarm company.  Do I still need an HPD alarm permit?  In Honolulu County, Oahu, Hawaii the answer is Yes.  If the alarm rings, (more…)
